  • Parents buy Daniel his first piano
  • Daniel’s Mom teaches him to play “Sara” by Fleetwood Mac later that night
  • Daniel writes his first song the next day video
  • 1983
    • Daniel records his first demo “Track a Ghost” 
    • “Track a Ghost” is aired on KHMO in Hannibal, MO during Daniel’s first radio interview video
  • 1984
    • Daniel moves to Fort Worth, Texas
  • 1986 - 1989
    • Daniel is introduced to country music while working at a Fort Worth honky tonk 
    • Writes “I Still Need You Tonight” on a bar napkin on a slow night at work video
    • Also wrote “Vision of Color” & “True Perspective” (Ghost Stories) during this time
  • 1990 – 1997
    • Daniel moves to Austin, TX
    • Joins Austin Songwriter’s Group
    • Records demo of “True Perspective” at Austin Music Lanes
    • “True Perspective” wins in the Rock Category of 1992 Austin Song Competition  image
    • Daniel becomes a regular at Chicago House & Ruta Maya open mic nights
  • 1998
    • First pro gig at Babe’s in Austin
    • Meets Joan Baez after first gig, who encourages Daniel to keep his song writing honest
    • “Altar Boy” is written video
    • Launches acoustic duo with Cheri Chilcote image video
  • 1999
    • Records/releases “Out of the Silence” with Cheri and David Breaux  video
    • “I Still Need You Tonight” wins in Pop Category of Austin’s Song Competition
    • Daniel and Cheri become featured regulars at Borders Books & Music, Mozart’s and Flipnotics in Austin
    • Daniel and Cheri perform “Silent Night” on Austin’s FOX Christmas Special
  • 2000
    • DanielLink.com launches in January
    • Regional touring begins with dates in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio
    • Daniel’s first appearance on KOOP Radio in Austin video
    • National college and community radio campaign begins
    • “Altar Boy” debuts at #4 on Outvoice.com – Top 20 Singles Chart image
    • “Out of the Silence” debuts at #5 On Outvoice.com – Top 20 Albums Chart image
    • “Constant Faithfulness” chosen as official theme song for AIDS Walk Austin
  • 2001
    • Daniel first full band debuts at official showcase at South by Southwest Music & Media Festival
    • “Out of the Silence” gets rave review in Billboard read
    • Recording sessions begin for “Ghost Stories” video
    • Meets Chelle Murrey at Alta Vista Recording Studios
    • Daniel and band make first television appearance for 9/11 relief show on KEYE TV, Austin

    • Austin Mayor Gus Garcia proclaims “Daniel Link Day” in Austin on July 11 image
    • “Ghost Stories” CD release on July 19
    • Daniel and band featured on Austin’s FOX News station music segment video
    • “Ghost Stories” gets rave review in Billboard read
    • “Someone in Austin” goes into heavy rotation on Austin radio majic 95.5 interview
  • 2003
    • “Daniel Link Band: In Concert” is televised on Austin Music Network
    • Band tours extensively throughout Texas
    • Daniel featured on “Sound of Our Town” on KGSR in Austin kgsr interview
    • Regular Monday night shows opening for Bob Schneider at Saxon Pub
    • Daniel’s band appears on Austin’s FOX News Music segment video
    • “Someone in Austin” charts at #2 on MAJIC 95.5’s Top Austin Songs of 2003 image
  • 2004
    • Band dissolves, and Johnny Big is hired as Daniel’s sideman video
    • The new duo expands tour and on air radio performances from Texas to California
    • “Color of Rain” recording sessions begin with Johnny Big in producer role video
  • 2005
    • “Color of Rain” CD is released
    • Daniel showcases at International Folk Alliance Conference in Montreal
    • “Bruce Wayne” pitched to Warner Brothers’ “Batman Begins” movie

    • “Vicious Circle” peaks at #1 on Isound.com
    • International radio play begins, including Radio 4ZZZ 102.1 FM, Brisbane, Australia

    • National and regional touring continues with Daniel’s solo shows

    • Daniel and Chelle Murrey write “Brave the Outside”
    • Daniel showcases at New Music Festival in Dallas
    • Daniel and Chelle Murrey record the Christmas CD “Fa La La (Part 1)”
    • “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and “Christmas Cookie” featured on multiple podcasts over every holiday season since the initial release in 2007
    • Daniel premiers “Saving Grace” on Austin’s FOX News Music Segment
  • 2010
    • Daniel relocates to Santa Fe, New Mexico video
    • First radio interview on KSFR FM in Santa Fe
    • Begins writing songs for “Book of Shadows”
    • Grammy Nominated legend Vince Bell invites Daniel to be Vince’s sideman video
  • 2011
    • Daniel makes first appearance at the legendary Anderson Fair in Houston with Vince Bell
    • Vince invites Daniel to work on Bell’s forthcoming music/film project
    • Daniel meets producer, singer songwriter Jono Manson
  • 2012
