Brave the Outside

Song by Daniel Link & Chelle Murrey

Don’t wanna go outside today

Sky turns from blue to gray

I’ve watched the seasons change

From my window…

Sleeping the day away

Slumber can lesson pain

Dreams bring no comfort

To my awakening…

Narrow minds

Breed narrow times…

Can’t make a difference if we choose to hide

Choose to lead

Or choose to follow…

First we must

Brave the outside…

All we can see

If all we are watching is our TV

Is the tripped out world we have created

Cowboys come and go

Leaving a legacy for children to know

Every generation has a cross to bear

Narrow minds

Breed narrow times

Can’t make a difference if we choose to hide

Choose to lead

Or choose to follow

First we must

Brave the outside…

Worship Me

Song by Daniel Link and John Schoen

I woke up like any other day...

Before the stars all fade away...

Not really lonely, not really far,

Never stepped foot off my boulevard...

Don't really care if I'm runnin' late...

Which sick idea will I medicate…

Mincing words I play polite,

With teeth that smile and eyes that bite...

There is no one who can save me…

Rescue is not my style...

I want someone to discover me...

Worship me for a while...

I have longed to travel to that place…

An image of me that has no face...

Burned many candles like a pharaoh...

Turned many cards in my tarot...

There is no one who can save me …

Rescue is not my style...

I want someone to discover me...

Worship me for a while...

Worship me for a while…

There is no one who can save me …

Rescue is not my style...

I want someone to discover me...

Worship me for a while...

Worship me for a while…

Worship me, worship me, worship me, worship me,
Worship me, worship me, worship me for a while…

Jillian

Song by Daniel Link

Hold up the mirror…
Walk through it…
Buried in the snow,
Walk through it…

Face the empty page,
Walk through it…

Face to face with rage,

Walk through it…

I first saw her

Standing in the mountains…

With the aspen…a connection…

To all the lives she’s touched, she’s healed,

And let go of…

Still they all surround her…

The fog and ghosts who suffer…

They enfold her…

So I told her…

Walk through it…walk through it…

Come on now, Jillian…

You gave the first gift, Jillian…

Take the last gift, Jillian…

Walk through it…

Now we’re floating

Through ice and molten steal…

Our wind and wings alike,

Though different shades…we heal…

She gave me ink and pen,

I turned her to the page…

I pointed to my teacher,

She saw the mystic sage…

Slightly out of phase…

Walk through it…walk through it…

In the clothes that fit, Jillian…

You gave the first gift, Jillian…

Take the last gift, Jillian…

Walk through it…

Between intuition

And information to be found…

Follow all the whispers

Under leafs and underground…

Tell your many stories…

I’ll sing my unknown songs…

Write all unspoken words,

And right the many wrongs…

Walk through it…

No excuses, no more fears…

No more subtle hiding…

No more hidden tears…

Send your quiet prayers,

So the pain will disappear…

Tell your many stories…

I’ll sing my unknown songs…

Write all unspoken words,

And right the many wrongs…

Walk through it…walk through it…

Come on now, Jillian…
Jillian…

Jillian…

…walk through it…

Last Day of Winter

Song by Daniel Link

Last day of winter

Last falling snow…

Last night I forgive you…

Today I don’t know…

It’s not easy to go on, you know…
It’s not easy to let go, you know…

And last summer
I gave up what was mine…
Sacrificed in trust…
And  burned too many times…

It’s not easy to go on, you know…
It’s not easy to let go…

I wanna cry, I wanna yell, I wanna be felt alone…
I wanna scream, I wanna breath, I wanna be wind blown…
I wanna know, I wanna feel, wanna be my on my own…
Please, please, please…
I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…

And with the first day of spring
Melting everything…
I want the very best for you…
And for me…

I wanna cry, I wanna yell, I wanna be felt alone…
I wanna scream, I wanna breath, I wanna be wind blown…
I wanna know, I wanna feel, wanna be my on my own…
Please, please, please…

I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…
I wanna go home…

Seven White Moons

Song by Daniel Link

When I was seventeen…

Spell bound by the stars…

Casting all my wishes

Beyond Venus…beyond Mars…

New to my indifference…

From every common man…

I pretended not to notice,

What no one understands…

He walks in my sleep…

Through identical debris…

He knows everything but my name…

Déjà vu in threes…

Twin souls just alike…

Fashioned like an art…

 We’re twin snowflakes that fall,

On vast worlds apart…

On a world of mountains

And crystalline dunes…

He stares back through

Seven white moons…

I hoped that he existed…

I calculate the odds…

A journey through the eons…

A reckoning with God…

A dream that’s so relentless…

Never known through spoken word…

Will all my tears be stolen,

Will my heart be heard…

On a world of mountains

And crystalline dunes…

He stares back through

Seven white moons…

I’ve seen it in the movies…

I’ve heard it in a song…

Is poetry a notion…

Where man has never gone…

Can I bridge the distance…

From pain to ecstasy…

Will I ever find him…

Will he come to me…

On a world of mountains

And crystalline dunes…

He stares back through…

He stares back through…
He stares back through…

Seven white moons…

The Spell

Song by Daniel Link

The leaves have changed and the fall moves into me…

Blazing summer dies and burns a part of me…

Twenty years ago the boy I was kissed you,

Just you wait until the man I’ve become gets through…

Now you’ve gone half your life with a man

Who was nothing but below you…he wrecked you…

Is that what you’re worth, I don’t know

But I’m fighting just to show you…let me show you…

That your heart has broken down to the truth,

Shed the shredded skin and your wasted youth…

And the only thing that’s left is what you can’t shake…

It’s the kiss I gave to you…it’s the spell you’ll never break…

Spell you’ll never break…

Now you’re heavy when I’m light so I give in…

Trading places you and I never know how to begin…

We jump the gun with the sex and nasty on,

And in the light I see I’m not the only one…

Now I’ve lost all this time as the man

Who had left you for another… it wrecked you…

Now you choose another, I don’t know…

Are you fighting  just to show me…guess you showed me…

That my heart has broken down to the truth,

Shed the shredded skin and my wasted youth…

And the only thing that’s left is what I can’t shake…

It’s the kiss you gave to me…it’s the spell I’ll never break…

Wrap me up in leather and suede…

Drop to the shadows where we hope to fade…

Star struck in the lives we’ve made…

In the arms of another…we still crave…

‘Cuz our hearts have broken down to the truth,

Shed the shredded skin and our wasted youth…

And the only thing that’s left is what we can’t shake…

It’s the kiss I gave to you…it’s the spell we’ll never break…

Spell we’ll never break…
Spell we’ll never break…

Spell we’ll never break…

Save Me A Place

Song by Lindsey Buckingham

Don't know why I have to work
Don't know why I can't play
Turn me off turn me out
But don't turn me away

Save me a place
I'll come running if you love me today

Don't know why I have to go
Don't know why I can't stay
Guess I want to be alone
And I guess I need to be amazed

Save me a place
I'll come running if you love me today

Save me a place
I’ll coming running if you love me today
I’ll come running if you love me today
I’ll come running if you love…

The Dark Art of Obsession

Song by Daniel Link

I wanna know you…

I wanna show you…

I wanna breath you…

I wanna bleed you…

What do you want from me…
When do you think of me…

I wanna fill you…

I wanna thrill you…

I wanna groove you…

I wanna prove you…

What do you want from me…
When do you think of me…

Sha la la…always wanting…

Sha la la…always wanting…

Sha la la…always wanting more…

I wanna own you…

I wanna zone you…

I wanna grind you…

I wanna blind you…

What do you want from me…
When do you think of me…

What do you want from me…
When do you think of me…

Saving Grace
Song by by Daniel Link

When I was alone and scared

I found myself with you…

When all my walls caved in,

My hero, you pulled me through…

And in the total darkness

My lies thrived…my fear grew…

You shinned your light on me,

Now I’m standing in the truth…

Outside…cease fire…

This love is a saving grace, honey…

Inside…inspired…

This love is a saving grace…

I don’t have that much to give,

I never seemed to be enough –

Always the hungry victim…

I crave to beat myself up…

You smile and say nothing,

Then take me to the well…

Trees frame an ancient circle,

Banished from my own hell…

Outside…cease fire…

This love is a saving grace, honey…

Inside…inspired…

This love is a saving grace…

I rave,

You pave…

I crave,

You gave…

I enslave…

You forgave…

I rave,

You pave…

I crave…

You gave…

You save,

I’m brave…

Outside…cease fire…

This love is a saving grace, honey…

Inside…inspired…

This love is a saving grace…

Book of Shadows
Song by Daniel Link

There’s a fine line
Between inspiration and emptiness…
And a long road
To repair along the way…

And you find

It easy to take constant forgiveness…

With protection sold,

And trust in slow decay…

The saying goes,

I’ve heard, “it’s water beneath the bridge”…

Least I forget

To swim towards peace of mind…

Still, in the throws

Of your… repeating disrespect…

Floods take the bridge in time…

…So, I…

Take the grace of age…

Tread above the shallows…

Turn more than the page…

Open the Book of Shadows…

One final time,

I’ll grant the benefit of the doubt…

And you’ll go on

Ignorant in your bliss…

Then you justify

Your madness, the last word you have...you shout…

So self important…

So easy do you dismiss…

…Still, I…

Take the grace of age…

Tread above the shallows…

Turn more than the page…

Open the Book of Shadows…

Book of shadows…

So I leave here,

Taking inspiration and emptiness…

On a long road

To repair along the way…

And you will hear

What you believe to be more forgiveness…

Well, I don’t know,

I just hope to forget you today…

…But, I…

Take the grace of age…

Tread above the shallows…

Turn more than the page…

Open the Book of Shadows…

Book of shadows…

River
Song by Daniel Link

A two story house in the forest hills
And a road that lead up to the sky…
Cotton candy summers and a Ferris wheel,
And a boy who dreamed he could fly…

Two pretty girls lived right next door
Sweet laughter would carry in the rain…
They weren’t rich but they weren’t poor,
He loved to hear them say his name…

They would all climb trees and run barefoot
Catching fireflies like stars within their reach…
But then one day the boy found he could
Never touch the stars by climbing trees…

Oh, the river…
Flows so far…
God bless the dreamer…
God bless the stars…

Teenaged years brought much to learn,
For a small town boy who’s now a freak…
Staring out the window as the seasons turn,
A teenaged tear upon his cheek…

So much beauty yet so much pain,
Filled the landscape of the boy’s homeland…
Two pretty girls left to sustain
The sweetness of the deep river sand…

Oh, the river…
Flows so far…
God bless the dreamer…
God bless the stars…
Chart the river…
To the unknown sea…
To the unsleeping lands…
Passage is not free…
The boy from the river…
Changed to a man…
In an Emerald City…
Still an empty hand…

Now he lives in the mountains were the stars are near…
The city had no answer it would seem…
Cotton candy summers and a Ferris wheel,
The broken hearted still dare to dream…

Oh, the river…
Flows so far…
God bless the dreamer…
God bless the stars…
Oh the river…
I’ve come so far…
The dreamer is the river…
The dreamer is the stars…
